At the end of my second year at University, I was elected as Head of Marketing for the History of Art Society. Alongside my studies from April 2020-2021, I was responsible for managing the social media accounts, emails and website for the Warwick History of Art Society. Whilst students were working remotely, the digital presence of the society was crucial for its survival.
Responsibilities and initiatives taken included:
• Creating content using Canva, and regularly posting on the Society's social media platforms.
• Developing and integrating marketing campaigns for a student audience.
• Managing and editing our Wix Website and blog posts, and creating newsletters using Mailchimp.
• Researching and circulating related opportunities and news.
• Analysing competitors' digital media presence and keeping up to date with current digital trends.
• Collaborating as part of the Executive team on a range of objectives, particularly growing membership and expanding our network with alumni.
• Sourcing merchandise and generally raising the profile of the society among other students.
During this time (April 2020 - April 2021):
Our Instagram follower count increased by 270%.
Our Facebook posts saw up to a 440% increase in organic views (without paid promotion).
Our LinkedIn follower count increased by 130%.
Our Website has had almost 1K unique site visits, averaging a duration of over 19 minutes each.
Moreover, the number of unique site visitors was more than five times the size of the History of Art Department, indicating the successful promotion of the society beyond the department and throughout the University.
